Influence of Body Composition on Cardiorespiratory Fitness and Metabolic Markers in Physically Inactive Individuals with Insulin Resistance: An Observational Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
The aim of this study was to determine body composition influence on cardiorespiratory fitness and metabolic markers in physically inactive individuals with insulin resistance (IR). Nineteen overweight obese (body mass index [BMI] 25.0–29.9 kg·m−2; ≥ 30.0 kg·m−2, respectively) patients diagnosed IR (5 men 14 women; age: 32.74 ± 10.07 years; BMI: 32.5 4.60 kg·m−2). included BMI, fat mass, fat-free mass. Cardiorespiratory measured by maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max). Metabolic oxidation, fasting glucose, insulin. determined homeostatic model assessment (HOMA-IR). results the partial correlations (i.e., age, sex) reported that BMI were significantly correlated VO2max. Additionally, multiple linear regression indicated explained variance VO2max 89%. However, no substantial between or HOMA-IR, This concluded a higher percentage lower is positively related better despite status participants analyzed.

متن کاملThe Effect of Combined Training (Endurance- Resistance) and Ginger Supplementation on Cardiorespiratory Endurance, Body Composition and Insulin Resistance among Obese Females with Type 2 Diabetes
Background & objectives: Diabetes mellitus, as a metabolic disease, is associated with impaired insulin resistance index and cardiovascular risk factors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a concurrent exercise and Ginger supplementation on cardiorespiratory endurance, body composition, and insulin resistance index in obese women with type 2 diabetes. Methods: 60 women ...
متن کاملEffects of Eight Weeks of Resistance Training and High-Intensity Interval Training on Adropin, Blood Glucose Markers, Insulin Resistance, and Body Composition of Overweight and Obese Females
Background and objectives: Previous investigations have shown that physical activity can improve insulin sensitivity and body composition by reducing the concentration of inflammatory biomarkers. The study aimed at evaluating effects of eight weeks of resistance training and high-intensity interval training on adropin, blood glucose markers, and body composition in overweight females. Methods:...
متن کاملThe association between cardiorespiratory fitness and abdominal adiposity in postmenopausal, physically inactive South Asian women
In South Asians, a unique obesity phenotype of high abdominal fat is associated with increased cardiovascular risk. Low cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is associated with abdominal fat and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The purpose of this paper is to determine whether CRF as assessed by VO2 peak, in post-menopausal South Asian women, was associated with body fat distribution and ...
متن کاملCardiorespiratory Fitness and Body Composition in Postmenopausal Women
The object of the study was to analyze the relationship between aerobic fitness and body composition in postmenopausal women. We hypothesized that postmenopausal women that had higher adiposity had lower cardiorespiratory capacity, regardless of the characteristics of menopause. The sample included 208 women (57.57 ± 6.62 years), whose body composition and the basal metabolic rate were evaluate...
